History

Campau is a seventeenth century farmhouse in Sant Jaume dels Domenys in the region of the Baix Penedès. Since its inception Campau has never stopped cultivating the traditional Penedès lands of vineyards and olive groves.

The house is the result of expansions and adaptations according to the needs of more than three hundred years of history and reflects the typical construction of Catalan farms. From the first space, with just a kitchen and a charcoal fire, the house grew with new areas dedicated to both the production of wine, with a press, vats, cellars and storage of crops, and to the housing of animals with a barn, a chicken coop, corral and stable. Over time these spaces have been converted and adapted for new uses, while always maintaining and respecting their historical charm.

The house, which has belonged to the same family since its inception, still continues its agricultural life adapted to the XXI century but has also opened parts of its spaces for public use.
